Privacy policy
Effective 1 October 2026
Terra is a daily geography trivia app for iPhone and Android, published by TrioTrix Tech Solutions (“we”, “us”). This policy explains what information is involved when you use it. The short version: there is no account, your game data stays on your device, and the only third parties involved are Google (ads and, on Android, usage statistics), Expo (app updates), Sentry (crash reports) and Apple or Google (purchases and app stores).
Information stored on your device
Terra saves the following on your phone so the game works. It is not sent to us.
- Your daily results: which days you played, which answers were right or wrong, and how long you took.
- Practice progress and statistics, streaks, and the date you first opened the app.
- Your settings: reminders and reminder time, sound, vibration, and whether you've seen the intro.
- Whether you own Terra Pro, so it works offline.
Terra has no accounts and no servers that receive this information. You can delete it at any time with Reset all progress in the app, or by uninstalling the app.
Advertising (Google AdMob)
Terra is free because it shows ads from Google AdMob. The ads SDK collects the following from your device and sends it to Google, to show and measure ads (advertising and analytics) and to prevent fraud:
- Device identifiers: your advertising ID (on iPhone only if you allow tracking) and a device ID limited to this developer's apps (on Android, the app set ID).
- IP address, which Google may use to estimate your general location.
- App interactions: ad views and taps, and app launches.
- Diagnostics: crash and performance data about the app and the ads SDK.
Google uses this information as described in its policy on how Google uses information from apps that use its services and the Google Privacy Policy.
Terra asks Google to treat its ad requests as not directed at children and to show only ads rated for general audiences (G).
Your consent
Where the law requires it (for example in the European Economic Area, the UK, Switzerland and some US states), Terra shows Google's consent message before any ad is requested, so you can choose how your data may be used for ads. If you don't consent, you may see limited or non-personalised ads, or no ads. You can change your choice at any time in the app under Profile → Privacy choices.
App Tracking Transparency (iPhone)
On iPhone, Terra asks once, through Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt, whether Google may use your device's advertising ID to show more relevant ads. Terra works the same whether you allow it or not. You can change this later in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
App updates (Expo)
Terra can receive bug fixes without a store update, through EAS Update from Expo (650 Industries, Inc.), which acts as our service provider. When the app starts, it asks Expo's servers whether a fix is available. That request includes:
- the app's version, platform (iPhone or Android) and update channel;
- a random installation ID created by the update library. It isn't linked to you or your device's advertising ID, and it usually changes if you reinstall the app;
- your IP address, as with any internet request;
- if the app crashed while starting, a short error message, so a broken update can be rolled back.
Expo uses this only to deliver updates, roll them out gradually and show us how many installs received each one. See Expo's privacy policy.
Crash reports (Sentry)
When Terra crashes or hits an error, it sends a crash report to Sentry (Functional Software, Inc.), our service provider, so we can find and fix the problem. A report contains:
- what went wrong and where in Terra's code;
- the app version, your phone's model and operating system version, and technical state such as free memory, storage and battery level;
- recent app events, such as the app moving to the background;
- a random installation ID created by the crash reporter, so repeated crashes on one phone count once.
Terra also tells Sentry when the app is opened and closed, with no other content, so we can measure how often it crashes. Reports don't include your name, contacts, game answers or advertising ID, and Sentry is told not to store your IP address. See Sentry's privacy policy.
Usage statistics (Google Analytics for Firebase, Android)
On Android, Terra uses Google Analytics for Firebase to count how many people open the app and come back, for example a day and a week after installing it. It collects:
- a random app-instance ID for this installation. Terra tells Firebase not to collect your advertising ID or Android ID;
- when the app was first opened, when each session starts and how long you use it;
- your approximate location (such as country or city), which Google works out from a masked IP address;
- if you buy Terra Pro, the purchase event (the product and its price).
Terra sends no events of its own and nothing about your answers or game data. Where the law requires consent (for example in the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland), it follows your choices in the consent message: unless you agree to storing information on your device and to measurement, Analytics stores no identifier, and Google receives only basic, identifier-free signals. You can change your choice at any time under Profile → Privacy choices. Google processes this data for us as a service provider; see the Google Privacy Policy.
Purchases
Terra Pro is bought through the App Store or Google Play. Apple or Google handles the payment; Terra never receives your payment details. The app only receives confirmation of your purchase from the store, so it can unlock Terra Pro and restore it on another device.
Notifications
If you turn on reminders, Terra schedules local notifications on your phone. They are created on the device; no notification server or tracking is involved. You can turn them off in the app or in your phone's settings.
Sharing your results
When you tap Share or Copy result, Terra creates the image or text on your phone and hands it to your phone's share sheet or clipboard. Nothing is shared unless you choose where to send it.
Contacting us
If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you write, and use them only to reply. Ask us and we'll delete the conversation.
Children
Terra is intended for people aged 13 and over and is not directed at children under 13. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children.
Your rights
Because Terra keeps your game data only on your device, you control it directly: reset it in the app or uninstall the app. For information Google processes for ads, use Privacy choices in the app, your device's ad settings, or contact Google. Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR or US state laws), you may have rights to access, correct or delete personal information, or to opt out of its sale or sharing for advertising. Contact us with any request and we'll help.
Changes to this policy
If the app starts handling information differently, we'll update this page and the effective date above.
